if I'm surrounded by people that I don't have common interests with, it's like it could be awkward for my brain and so maybe that's why you would want numbness — Because there's resistance lacking shared values/outlook/Goals. But when you're surrounded by people that you actually enjoy and connect with and bring out the best in you, then it's like you'd want to feel the most alive and not numb. So I feel like (for me ) the ppath is less of a numbing down and more so changing your environment so you want to feel most alive.
